No shortage of florescent lights, bills on the floor, and big booty girls driving go-karts in DJ Esco’s visuals for “Too Much Sauce” featuring the likes of Lil Uzi Vert and Future. The three are seen sporting tons of ice, OFF-WHITE, and VLONE while rocking over-sized bobble heads and dropping verses about what it’s like to have too much sauce (relatable). Pharrell Talks Politics, What’s Wrong in the Music Business & His New Film ‘Hidden Figures’
Pharrell stopped through The Breakfast Club studio to talk about the music business, his new film ‘Hidden Figures’, and extra-terrestrial life.
In his rendition, the 34-year-old rapper goes in on some of hip-hop’s rising stars—calling out their skill level as well as naivety.
“Too many best rappers, not enough best rhymes tho/Guess I’m delusional, used to doing it all the time so/Maybe I’m just jaded, out of touch and unrelated/Unable to connect greatness based on the person who makes it,” he raps. “Or maybe I just hate it/And that would make me hater Maybe it is great but that don’t mean it’s raider/Having your profile raised doesn’t make you a raiser/Being ambiguous with assertions isn’t making you safer.”
He also raps about artists being easily deceived by record labels.
“Artist gettin’ robbed before they publish/By dirty Jewish execs that think his alms from the covenant/I’ll retire when I’m tired, that’s a Firestone death/Easy to say when nobody’s there, like a microphone check.”
Unsurprisingly, the verse was criticized for being anti-Semitic. But Lupe denied the accusations—kind of.
Partynextdoor has finally spoken out following the removal of Jeremih from the lineup of their joint Summer’s Over Tour.
“I appreciate everybody filling up this room, and standing in this room, and not refunding your ticket, because you want to see a real person,” he told the crowd. “I might not have the most hits in the game that’s under my name—I might not sing the best falsetto…Everyone knows I’m a real person and I don’t have time for any other fake shit. I can’t do fake shit. I’m not calling nobody fake, I’m just saying.”
The whole thing allegedly began because Jeremih wanted to be listed as a co-headliner on the tour. News of a beef started to surface after the Chicago stop when Jeremih dropped the mic and stormed off stage. “Truth is ‘they’ didnt want me 2 perform tonight..it sad people will take ur money and blatantly make it seem like I only want to do 2 songs,” he later tweeted of the incident. Then, he allegedly sent a stunt double to perform for him on the Houston stop of the tour. The tension seemingly came to a head after Jeremih dissed PND on stage in Dallas, calling him a “bitch ass ni**a.” Jeremih was removed from the final dates and Live Nation offered fans full refunds on tickets to the tour.
Prior to the tension and tour, Jeremih actually announced that he and PND were working on a collaborative album. As recently as November, PND even discussed how the two were hitting the studio together. “Our energies are similar, you know? When you get into the studio, you never know who is going to fit your energy. I’m just glad that we can co-exist. It’s never competitive with us. It’s just fun.”

O.T. Genasis grabbed T.I. to make the video for their latest hit, “Get Racks.”
The track finds the Long Beach native going at all the people that underestimate his talent. A slick-city backdrop sets the perfect, high intensity stakes as O.T. and T.I. arrive on the scene to drop their respective verses. O.T. goes first, spitting some very strong words for anyone that has ever doubted him with bars like “Billboard again and again, these ni**as don’t want me win” and “They keep hating on me, they put a rating on me.”
Big Sean has been teasing his new “Bounce Back” visual all over social media and now the video is finally here.
The video finds Big Sean linking up with The Weeknd and Majid Jordan collaborator Kid Studio to deliver an ambitious scene starring the rapper. The whole thing opens up on a turquoise and pink-drenched Inception like world where entire cities appear upside down as Sean delivers his bars against a moon-like backdrop. It’s safe to say it all makes for one stunning release to feast your eyes on.
More good news for Chance the Rapper fans: We now have a behind-the-scenes look at his Magnificent Coloring World Tour.
This weekend, Virginia-based filmmaker Tahjee Wallace shared a 16-minute video with rare footage of Chance’s journey around the globe. We see the Chicago rapper hitting the stage in front a packed venues, making stops at random convenience stores, creating the video for his “How Great” track, and watching Chappelle’s Show clips during his downtime. If you weren’t able to attend the show, or you’re just curious how it all went down, this film is a must-watch.
There’s a reason why the “platinum with no features” meme took off after J. Cole dropped 2014 Forest Hills Drive: dude can move units. It looks like that streak will continue with 4 Your Eyez Only, as Billboard projects Cole’s latest effort will move around 550,000 units in its first week. Of that total, 360,000 to 380,000 will be in traditional sales.
To put that into perspective, only two albums have had a higher first week total this year: Drake’s Views (1.04 million) and Beyoncé’s Lemonade (653,000). The 550,000 mark would easily pass 2014 Forest Hills Drive as Cole’s highest first week total, which bowed at 371,000 in December two years ago.
Of course, that final tally would also handily take the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart, making 4 Your Eyez Only Cole’s fourth consecutive album to hit No. 1. It will also count as his third to debut at No. 1: Born Sinner debuted at No. 2 before hitting the top slot in its third week of release.
J. Cole has yet to do any press around 4 Your Eyez Only. Aside from a 40-minute doc, the most we’ve gotten from him so far has been a tweet on album release night. And he’s about to do over half a milli first week. Incredible, to say the least.
Complex did recently catch up with Elite, co-executive producer of 4 Your Eyez Only, to get some insight into the making of the project. 4 Your Eyez Only is available on iTunes.
Nicki Minaj has the internet thinking that she and Meek Mill might have broken up after sharing some confusing Instagram posts.
“Thank God u blew it. Thank God I dodged the bullet. I’m so over u. Baby good lookin out. #BestThingUNeverHad thank u for this epic gift @sincerearmani?,” she captioned a picture of some new Chanel sandals on Sunday.
