Nick Cannon Reveals He’s Written Bars for Kanye West

Nick Cannon stopped by The Breakfast Club and claimed he used to write for Kanye West. He said he wrote a few bars for Kanye’s guest verse on Rhymefest’s 2006 track “Brand New” that ‘Ye also produced.

“I ain’t never wrote no smashes, but I’ve been in the Kanye camps early on,” he told the Breakfast Club crew. “I was there doing ‘Gold Digger.’ I wrote the [‘Brand New’] bar for Kanye, ‘We don’t need to stunt/I make black history every day, I don’t need a month.’ That was me. Kanye’s bar. Stuff like that.” Interestingly enough, Kanye spit that same bar a few years before “Brand New” during a Def Poetry Jam session.
