Chris Brown’s female tour manager allegedly quit on the spot after a drug-fueled outburst from Brown left her feeling unsafe back in May. According to TMZ, it all went down during Brown’s European tour, which is when Nancy Ghosh claimed Brown cursed her out over the terms of her employment, which led her to jump off the tour bus and quit the job altogether.
A doorman at the Hyde Nightclub in Los Angeles is reportedly suing Lil Wayne for battery. According to a report from TMZ, the doorman says Wayne punched him while at a club after the BET Awards. The report claims several members of Wayne’s crew were turned away at the door to the club, where he and 2 Chainz were hosting a BET Awards after party.
The report claims Wayne then punched the doorman in the face, causing him to be hospitalized; he was released later that night. If true, Lil Wayne could face misdemeanor battery charges for the incident.
It’s been a rough few weeks for Lil Wayne. His plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Nebraska on June 13 after he suffered from a series of seizures. These are the first seizures Wayne has had since 2013, when a string of them led to grounded flights and canceled tour dates.
A reporter from TMZ tried to ask Ray J about his likeness appearing in Kanye West’s “Famous” video, and Ray J’s manager Wack 100 had quite a bit to say about it. “If they didn’t show Ray J with his dick in Kim Kardashian’s mouth, then tell Kanye to go back and reshoot that shit,” he said. “Tell that n*gga he’s a long way from Chicago, he’d better watch his motherfucking mouth.”
Ray J himself later spoke out to Entertainment Tonight, claiming that he was “just trying to stay positive. I’m engaged. My marriage is all messed up ’cause of craziness. He went on to try and distance himself from the video. “I’m not part of nothing crazy,” he said. “I walk down a good path. My fiance tripping. It’s all bad in my world, and that ain’t cool.”
50 Cent was reportedly arrested last night after performing a show in the small Caribbean country St. Kitts. The reason? The “In Da Club” rapper reportedly used the word “Motherf—-r” during his set. According to a source that spoke to TMZ, “50 had been warned not to use profanity during his performance in front of 40,000 people. We’re told the DJ didn’t have a clean version of his set, and 50 didn’t pull the mic away from his mouth when he roared, ‘motherf—-r.”
After finishing his set, 50 was reportedly approached by the local police force who took him into custody for violating the island’s profanity laws. The offense is a minor one, but due to the fact that the incident took place on a weekend when the courts are closed, 50 reportedly has to wait around the island until Monday so that he can pay off his fine and put the matter to bed.
The same thing reportedly happened to DMX when he performed in St. Kitts in 2003. Back then, he got into trouble while performing an hour long show in front of a crowd of 3,000 people when he used profanity. “There was a contract signed in which it was made very clear long before the arrival of the artists that there are laws in St. Kitts that do not take kindly to the use of indecent language on stage,” Information Minister Jacinth Henry Martin explained at the time.
On Friday night, Kanye West revealed the visual for “Famous” in front of an audience of thousands at The L.A. Forum, and many more sitting at home watching the live feed of the event on Tidal. Most people were expecting West to pull out something unexpected, but even then, the tableau that The Life of Pablo rapper put together for his latest visual creation was something else.
The Daily Mirror obtained a set of recordings that were made to help craft Jackson’s 1988 autobiography, Moonwalker, and recently revealed for the first time the singer’s real thoughts about Prince.
Yesterday, a group of fashionable hip-hop personalities gathered at the colette boutique in Paris, which became the unlikely site of two heated brawls, both involving 19-year-old model Ian Connor, who has served as a creative consultant for both Kanye West and A$AP Rocky. Connor, various members of the A$AP clan, and Theophilus London were there for the joint launch of the new clothing lines of both Off-White, the high-fashion label of Kanye’s creative director, Virgil Abloh, as well as VLONE, an Off-White-affiliated brand that was started by A$AP Rocky and A$AP Bari.
Things quickly turned sour when a video surfaced showing a tense confrontation between London and Connor. London then began to blast Connor on Twitter, and before long, another video surfaced of Connor approaching London and punching him in the face. It took the efforts of Rocky and others to break up the fight, and security soon escorted those involved out of the boutique. Once outside, however, the situation proceeded to get even more hostile, as A$AP Bari sprinted toward Connor and connected on a furious punch to the side of his face.
Once again, the conflict was seemingly diffused after one punch, but both London and Bari continued to rebuke Connor on Twitter, and they finally prompted him to respond to each of them, and he did so with a scathing rant full of shocking allegations. Connor accused Bari of being envious of his rise in the fashion world, and more disturbingly, he claimed to have evidence that London is both a drug addict and a child molester.
A day after the high-fashion brawls made headlines, Virgil Abloh was asked to respond to his event being overshadowed by the scuffle between a few of his noted friends and collaborators. Speaking to WWD, Abloh didn’t seem too distressed about the conflict, saying, “They’re all brothers, so it’s basically watching a bunch of brothers fight.” He also expressed that he sees himself as a “camp counselor” in relation to the guys involved in yesterday’s fight and that he might need to do a better job in “leading by example.” Read his full quote below:
“It was totally fine. I looked at it as, like, a casualty — I call it me being a camp counselor. I probably knew it was going to happen. It’s just all the energy, but it’s like them being them. But I believe you can’t just like kids when it’s good. I’m not an educator or anything like that. And it’s not about that. It’s just about leading by example.”
Gucci Mane has officially announced a date for his new album titled Everybody Looking, along with the artwork via Instagram. This might go down as the quickest album turnaround from an artist after being set free from prison and if you’ve been following Guwop throughout his career, you’ll know his timing is impeccable. Good example was the Mike-Will Made It-produced single “First Day out Tha Feds” moments after his release from prison. Check out the announcement below.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the release of Jay Z’s seminal debut album Reasonable Doubt. While many have chimed in this week about their own recollections and opinions on the record, Hov himself has decided to get in on the celebration with a documentary titled RD:20, which is now up and streaming on (where else) Tidal.
The impact of Reasonable Doubt can not be understated. The album is a 14-track masterpiece featuring guest turns from some of the biggest names in hip-hop history like the Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Memphis Bleek. Reasonable Doubt also set the foundation for Jay-Z to essentially take over the rap game in the years that followed. Jay underscored its importance with a rare tweet.
This album literally saved my life…….. I can't thank you all enough.

Hitting the shelves at the exact moment when the East Coast/West Coast rap feud was at its fiery peak, a mere three months before Tupac Shakur was gunned down in Las Vegas, and nine months before Jay’s childhood friend Biggy Smalls was murdered in Los Angeles, it re-established New York’s bona fides as the center of the rap universe in the face of Dr. Dre’s eminent L.A. G-Funk. It also established his independent record label Roc-A-Fella?, run with Damon Dash, as a true force to be reckoned with.
This latest feature falls in line with the template that Nas set down just a couple of years back celebrating his own debut album with the film Time is Illmatic. Nas later went on an extensive theater and festival tour in conjunction with documentary where he played Illmatic in full. Don’t hold your breath in hopes for Jay to give Reasonable Doubt the same sort of public airing out.
You can watch the new film on Tidal.
Earlier this morning, with little warning whatsoever, 50 Cent decided to go in on Puff Daddy and his signature drink Cîroc in a series of harsh Instagram posts. As he recounted, Puffy caught 50’s ire last night at a club in Orlando, Florida. “A guy comes to me and says puffy’s guy James Cruz told him they are gonna put me out of business. I looked at the guy
