Future appears on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone, and he wastes no time showing his true feelings for Desiigner. Asked about the similarities between the two artists’ styles, Future declines to even discuss him. “I never worried about anyone else… I don’t even want his name in the article,” he said.
Desiigner has long been accused of jacking Future’s style. His breakout hit “Panda” is often mistaken for a song by Future, and he’s courted controversy by writing a song called “Pluto” and releasing an image of himself as Prince in Purple Rain.
Elsewhere in the interview, Future gets very candid about his failed relationship with Ciara. The story reveals that she was very unpopular with Future’s friends, who viewed her as “bougie” and thought she was trying to change him.
Fans have been waiting on news about Travi$ Scott’s new album, and he finally delivered. This past weekend, Travi$ previewed some new music during one of his concerts. While doing so, he also casually slipped in a huge announcement. “My album is coming out in a week, right?” he said. “So I’m gonna play a couple of joints on there.”
It looks like the beef between Meek Mill and Joe Budden might be about to take off in a major way. On Wednesday, Meek previewed lyrics on his Instagram to a song that seemingly references Budden. “Petty niggas wanna mention my name to get acknowledged …. Hoping I react like a fool and give em violence…. I rather kill em wit success and give em knowledge…. Before I throw it all away for a sucka cuz we the hottest…” he wrote.
It looks like Gucci Mane is coming to television. The rapper is reportedly getting a deal sorted with Oxygen to star in his own reality show alongside his girlfriend Keyshia Ka’oir, according to BET.
Bad Girls Club’s Judi Jackson all but gave away the news when she took to Instagram to express her excitement in a since-deleted post. “Never will forget my first Gucci concert. #OnStage. He’s such a great artist!” she captioned the post. “That man is not a clone! So happy he has got his life together and has A BEAUTIFUL woman by his side keeping him together. Excited about his new reality show on @Oxygen! I believe reality tv will not saturate his music. He’s a real rapper! Trapper! The plastic world ain’t gonna shake him! I love his music and real Gucci fans know he ain’t a clone.”
Celebrities dating each other isn’t something new at all, but the rumored couple of Desiigner and Lil’ Kim is seriously out of left field. In fact, up until Sunday night, when Kim posted three photos of her and Desiigner on Instagram together, nobody even really knew that they were associated in any way. Well, by the looks of her posts, which went up after Desiigner performed at the BET Awards last night, it seems like they might be more than just friends. “I luh hiiimmmmm ?? Your performance was so dope! I I’m so proud of you baby!!!,” Kim wrote on one. “So much fun when we’re together!!” she put on another.
Iggy Azalea had a pretty terrible encounter with an alleged fan. During a rare post-breakup outing at the airport, someone approached Iggy Azalea pretending to be a fan to get some face time with the rapper before letting her know how he really felt about her.
“Are you Iggy Azalea?” the fan asked. “I’d just like to thank you so much for ruining hip-hop.” Azalea is visibly displeased and shocked by the comment, but keeps herself composed as she walks away while the fan troll laughed and walked away.
The setting for the visual is luxe, with Ferg and Big Sean taking in the comfort of a nice hotel and plotting how they’re going to make their next major move.
There’s also some noticeable product placement—what up 1800® Tequila—but the visual all goes down smoothly like the track. At the very least, the video for “World Is Mine” delivers a cinematic vibe that showcases why Ferg is out here gettin’ it and then some.
One thirsty T.I. fan wanted to show the rapper how much she loved him with a big kiss, but things didn’t turn out as she hoped. In the video, which the rapper posted on his Instagram, she grabbed his face and went in for his lips, but T.I. masterfully swerved his head so fast that that she had no chance of success.
“Maaaaan I don’t know what da fuq made Shawty think she was just Gon get some Sugar!!!!! Not MY lips ma’am…. No SIR!!!! Shiiii-iiiit!!!!” he captioned the video, before leaving a pretty clear warning for other hopefuls.
Justin Timberlake tweeted out an apology after causing controversy with his response to a fan’s accusations of cultural appropriation. Timberlake claimed he felt “misunderstood” and said that his reply to one person wasn’t meant to be construed as a general response to the issue.
On Sunday night, Justin Timberlake was one of the many people to take to Twitter and give props to Jesse Williams for his powerful speech at the BET Awards in Los Angeles. Shortly after JT sent out the congrats to Williams, a Twitter user by the name of Ernest Owens asked the singer if he was going to stop appropriating black music and culture and apologize to Janet Jackson. “Oh, you sweet soul. The more you realize that we are the same, the more we can have a conversation. Bye,” Timberlake responded, which has started a pretty big backlash in his direction on social media.
Mostly, people are upset for the “We are the same” comment, especially after Timberlake had just given props to Williams on his speech, which dealt heavily with the issues of Black Lives Matter and the lack of equality in America. To this point, Timberlake has yet to tweet anything else on the situation, but many Twitter users have taken the opportunity to reply to him with younger photos of himself when he was in *NSYNC. Jesse Williams has yet to address the situation, and it’s unclear if he will at all. If you missed it, you can read all of Williams’ powerful speech from the BET Awards right here. You can also see Timberlake’s tweets below, and we’ll continue to update this story when more comes from it.
